Life.Paper.Scrapbook. January Mood Board
I am excited about the new challenge over a Life.Paper.Scrapbook. this year, mood boards are everywhere at the moment and one of the things I love about working from a mood board is that the possibilities are endless, you could be inspired by the colours, the patterns, images that are featured or the whole lot. You just have to look at what the LPS Design Team put together to see how versatile it is and that everyone can do a different take on the same image.
When I looked at the mood board the two images on the right jumped straight out at me, so I decided to focus on them along with the colours. As soon as I saw the October Afternoon Apple Cider paper (from the Daily Flash collection) I knew it would be perfect for this layout. It is quite a busy paper so I decided to use it as a background for the whole layout and mount white cardstock on top. I also wanted to use a piece of it on my layering so before I added the cardstock I cut the middle out.
I used a chevron stencil and lightly misted some colour shine to create my background, I seemed to spray heavier on one side than the other so I had a very noticeable, harsh line down one side. I decided to use embellishments to cover up the mistake and I really like how it has turned out.
As I said at the start I wanted to use the floral images so I had a dig into my stash and decided to use the Maggie Holmes Flea Market chipboard but there was not a lot of floral pieces left so I decided to mix it with some Pebbles From Me to You. When you look at these two collections side by side they don’t seem like they would work together at all but when I layered them they looked just right.
Now you have seen what I have put together please head over to the LPS blog and see what the Design Team has put together and play along. This month the prize is from Kellie Stamps who are offering this fabulous stamp set and the top three favourite layouts (as voted by the design team) will be featured on the blog.
Have a beautiful day!
